API and command reference¶
This reference documents the recommended extension surface for applications built on mpylab. It is deliberately curated: concrete instrument drivers and measurement environments remain discoverable in the source tree, while the interfaces shared by applications are collected here.
Names beginning with an underscore are internal unless a guide explicitly identifies them as a measurement-class hook. Consult the conceptual framework guide before using the API reference in isolation. A complete generated reference is available when the curated selection does not contain a required module.
Selection criteria¶
The curated reference prioritizes interfaces that are shared across
measurement applications, frequently imported or called in src,
script, and test, or relevant to lifecycle and safety. Usage
frequency is a supporting signal rather than the only criterion: compatibility
facades such as mpylab.tools.util remain widely imported by older code,
while new applications should use the focused modules to which they delegate.
